From the Edo period through the Meiji period, Cotton Highway flourished as a distribution center for Unshu cotton, and is a quiet, calm, nostalgic townscape lined with gabled lacquered houses.
This plan combines a guided stroll through the town with a tour of the nationally registered tangible cultural property, the Honishibashi Residence, allowing you to fully enjoy the history and charm of the Cotton Highway.
In addition, you can enjoy the specialty "Izumo Soba Gozen" at the restaurant "Cotton Flower" in the Cotton Street Community Center. You can taste dishes made with local ingredients, including fragrant and flavorful Izumo soba. Enjoy a satisfying lunch with dessert and after-drinks.
