Since its founding in 1877, Sake Mochida Honten has been passing on the long-standing traditional skills of Izumo Toji under Saka Shrine, which enshrines the god of sake brewing. Five buildings, including the brewery and inspection center, have been designated as national cultural properties and still retain their appearance from over 140 years ago. All of the koji is handmade. All of the sake, from ginjo sake to regular sake such as Josen, is made with rice grown in Shimane Prefecture. Please use public transportation or a substitute driver. - Please do not touch the equipment and fixtures The equipment and fixtures in the sake brewery are very delicate and play an important role in sake brewing.
