We will explain how soy sauce is made, the different types of soy sauce, Izumo’s food culture, and the history of our shop in a fun and easy-to-understand way.
Since its establishment in 1897, Oka Shigeichiro Shoten has been producing delicious soy sauce using traditional wooden vats for preparation, fermentation, and maturation.
The shop is housed in an Edo-period building that still retains its historic atmosphere. Visitors can learn about the traditional process of soy sauce making and discover its unique charm.
One of the highlights is our double-brewed soy sauce, made by brewing soy sauce once, then brewing it again in wooden vats and aging it for about three years. Its deep, rich flavor is truly exceptional.
You can also enjoy tasting our different soy sauces while our staff carefully explains the differences in flavor.
Why not rediscover the depth of soy sauce while experiencing the history of Izumo’s food culture?
Please note: From June 1, 2026, the fee for this experience will change to 1,500 yen per person. We will continue to make the experience even more satisfying for our guests, and we appreciate your understanding.
